Dog Days…
I just had to share this picture. This is not my dog. In fact it is of a dog that I’ve never met. But the picture invokes wonderful memories of my family’s dogs. We always had Samoyeds (they are the white fluffy breed of dog pictured here). Samoyeds come with tons of fur. This makes it pretty challenging for them in the summer. On really hot days, one of our dogs in particular would try and curl up to the toilet bowl just like the dog in this picture. When our dog was a puppy, he easily fit behind the toilet. As he grew bigger, he refused to accept that he no longer fit in his old sleeping spot, so he would try very hard to lie between the toilet and the wall. So when I saw this picture, it just warmed my heart.
It’s funny how warm memories come flooding back in unexpected moments. At present, I am dogless. I really want a dog, but my travel schedule is hectic these days and it just wouldn’t be fair to have dog right now. But I’m getting my doggie love through loving up other people’s dogs.
So here’s to all our fur babies. It is beautiful that God incarnated us into this life with animals who would bring us deep joy & loving.
Have a beautiful day~
