It will help you clear & balance your energy as well as provide you an opportunity to connect with your angels & guides. The meditation is about 17 minutes in length and includes a five minute segment for you to write a message from your angels (so you may want to have pen & paper handy).

This meditation was recorded during one of my classes  yesterday. Several of us had been feeling unsettled & anxious. Perhaps you had been feeling it, too. The more sensitive to energy we become, the more open we become to the subtle influences of global energy. This isn’t a bad thing — it’s just different. As we move through our ascension process, it is good to have tools in  our spiritual toolbox to help us ground and balance.

It seems that more and more I have been feeling energetic static and it causes me to feel off kilter. I have gotten pretty good at recognizing when this is happening and I find that connecting with Divine Source is the best way to recalibrate so that I can move into balance. Sitting in this Presence allows me to take a deep breath and reconnect with grace and love.

Today’s meditation will help you do just that. When I did the meditation, I received this beautiful message from the angels. It was in response to my heartfelt inquiry about a choice I needed to make. I’d been doing mental gymnastics trying to weight my options and make the “right” choice.  As soon as this message came through, my path became clear. I had been struggling with my logical mind and my soul’s longing. Sometimes they are not in agreement. My logical mind wants to play it safe — however my soul often encourages leaps of faith.

Be open to receiving guidance from your angels & guides today, too. Sometimes a few minutes of meditation will bring clarity that hours of mental rumination cannot begin to achieve.

Here’s the angel message I received:

Make alive choices. Make choices that evoke beauty and joy. Do not subdue your experience of life in response to fear. Your dreams are not delivered in this way. Your dreams come cloaked in leaps of faith, by saying “yes” and by following the wisdom of your heart. Do not allow yourself to be swayed by the fear and doubt of your ego nature. Make choices that allow you to blossom and thrive. The world is a big place and there is plenty of room for you to roam.

One of those moments happened at Agape in the fall of 2001 when Bridgette Bryant sang this song, Rolling River God. It may have only been my first or second time attending Agape and I was there by myself. With the first stroke of the piano, I could feel the tears begin to fall. When she began singing the words, I began softly weeping. She was singing my prayer to God. I can’t even tell you how many times I listened to this song in the following months. Every time I listened I would cry again, praying that I would find my soul amidst the pieces of my life.  Everything was falling away and there were no guarantees that I would feel whole on the other side of these changes. All I had were my prayers to God to help me find my way.

This song was my companion during that time. It is with love that I share it with you.

Don’t be too hard on yourself today.

You are in the midst of cultivating profound transformation in your life. Your prayers have been heard and the Universe is bringing you resources to assist you in co-create the changes you desire. It is not always easy to listen to the wise loving voice of your soul. The inner critic, however, is usually quick to jump in with an opinion. The past few days, the following words have been running through my thoughts. I sense I am to share them with you.

You are not unworthy.
You have not been forgotten.
Your life circumstances are not insurmountable.
You are not beyond redemption. Neither is anyone else.
You have not been banished.
Your life is not an accident.
You were not born with shame. Nor do you need to carry it now.

If anyone tries to convince you otherwise, bless them with love and move on.

The best other people can do is see  you through their eyes.
The best that you can do is see yourself through God’s eyes.
In God’s eyes, you are a divine being doing the best you can in a complex world.
In God’s eyes, you are whole and complete, courageous and filled with beauty.

 

Divine Intelligence that is God, asked you to be born upon this planet.
Know this to be true, you are born of God’s highest love.

Allow yourself to awaken to your true magnificence.
You are a being of pure beauty and light.

Be well, gentle spirit and allow the angels to carry you through today.

If this message is for you today, I send it to you with love. The angels were very insistent that I bring it through. Remember, never allow another to cause you to forget who you are. Most people mean well, they do. But they do not know your destiny. That is between you and God. It is a holy and sacred experience to listen to the wisdom of your soul. Allow yourself to experience the fullness of your true heart.  As you do, miracles will find you!

I think if you were to talk with people that know me, they would say that I’m pretty good at stretching beyond my fears in service to manifesting my dreams. After all, I left the corporate world to channel angels. I moved to a new city to be with my husband. I live the life of an entrepreneur where each month is different than the one before.  One time in an Angel Circle, one of the women in attendance said, “When I get scared of making the leap, I think about you and how you never get scared and you just forge ahead…”  Her observation made me laugh, because the truth is I feel fear  more often than I care to admit.

Fear is tricky. It warms up to you like an old friend and begins whispering sweet nothings to you. Maybe your fear tells you that the world is not ready to know the truth about you. My fear used to say that. A lot. It used to tell me to keep myself hidden otherwise people would see my flaws and insecurities. My fear would remind me how I never really fit in.  My fear would tell me that I would never find love because my body was too big.  These days my fear is more likely to curl up beside me to tell me that this might be the month when I don’t book enough business… that the miracle of co-creation won’t stop at my doorstep this month and I’ll have to go get a “real job.” Yep. That’s one of the threats my fear takes these days, “You might have to go get a JOB!” As if what I’m doing isn’t considered real work.

Thankfully, grace always finds me and sees me through the dark moments when the stickiness of my fear shouts through my thoughts.  The sun rises the next day and I am somehow renewed and reminded that all is well in my world.

We are programmed to be resilient. Remember this. Even if fear knocks on your doorstep, you do not have to invite it in to live with you. Call in your angels. Call a friend.

Josephus likes to say, fear is the smallest part of you but it has the loudest voice. They use the example of traveling on an airplane. There are 200 people on the plane. One of them is a crying baby. All you can hear is the crying child. The smallest person on the plane is making the most noise. That is our fear. The smallest part of us making the biggest fuss.

Remember, you are mighty and you are strong.  Living a courageous life doesn’t mean not feeling any fear. It means feeling the fear and moving through it. Not letting it stop you.  The big life you seek often means walking through the forest of fear. Bring your flashlight and some granola bars and get going.  Your life is worth it!

Welcome, beautiful soul, to Monday. May this week be even better than you can imagine and may grace find you wherever you go. The angels and I are sending you waves of light and love.

When I was in the corporate world, I was not a fan of Mondays. Like most people working the grind, Mondays symbolized the time when I had to leave behind the life I loved, for the work I needed to do, to pay for the life I loved. Now that Illuminating Souls is my full-time work, I actually look forward to Mondays. They represent the glorious possibility of the week ahead. The energy is fresh and I can feel the beauty that is coming my way.

One of the best ways to utilize the energy of Monday mornings is to set your intention for the week. I’ve started meeting with a few friends on the phone on Monday mornings to set our intentions and get clear on what we want to cultivate the coming week. I find the practice of clarifying my goals and desires helps set the tone for the days ahead.

When setting your intentions I recommend including the following elements:

• Qualities & Emotions – How are you going to be this week? Examples: I am joyfully… I am calling in grace… I am bringing greater connection to my loving… etc.
• Positive Focus: When writing affirmations and intentions there can sometimes be a desire to claim things like “I am not going to allow myself to be swallowed in fear this week.” This statement actually gives more energy to fear. Rather, spin with a positive focus such as “I am courageously moving forward this week and feeling safe in the world.” In this way you claim exactly the experience you desire.
• Goals – What are you going to experience and accomplish this week? Don’t get carried away here, this isn’t a laundry list of tasks, rather select one or two areas where you’d like to move forward. Keep goals totally do-able. Better to under-commit and over-achieve. This will help you build trust with yourself.

Here are my intentions for this week.

My intentions for the week are to navigate the week gracefully. My intention is to be incredibly focused and productive while having a lot of fun in the process. This week I will post to my blog one or more times this week and create one or more pieces of digital art. I am also calling in delightful surprises. My intention is to play with my creativity and also have a play day with friends. And so it is!

I invite you to join me today in setting your intentions for the week. You are a powerful co-creative being and it is through your actions and intentions that your life is created.

We are all in the midst of rebirth & clearing. Perhaps you’ve been feeling it, too. It hit me about 10 days ago. It came on as a wave of sadness & anxiety that wouldn’t settle. My heart ached with old pain and I wanted to run away. Everything in my life started to feel too small. The subtle pockets of unhappiness were suddenly rising up asking for attention. At the urging of my angels I took out pen and paper and began exploring and writing about the beliefs and fears that had been simmering just beneath the surface. They had been camouflaged by time so that I had forgotten they existed. But they were there, sending the shadow’s whispers through the various rooms of my life.

My usual approach to life is to focus upon my many blessings and all the things that I love. The truth is I have a beautiful life. And yet, like most people, I have pockets of my life that I wish were different. Most days they do not trouble me because I know that life is always in fluid motion and things change all the time. But during this transit, the shadow became the loudest voice in the room. The parts of me experiencing disappointment and dissatisfaction would not be ignored and demanded my attention.

I prayed, I meditated, I contemplated, I wrote and I allowed my heart to speak its secrets to me. It was a powerful time of awareness that brought me to a deeper place of understanding. As a result, I’ve experienced profound shifts and healing.

Welcome to the powerful Pisces experience.

Pisces is the 12th sign of the zodiac. It is a water sign filled with profound depth. Pisces rules the 12th house, the house of the subconscious & dreams. Last week we had Neptune (the planet that rules the subconscious dream state), the moon (your emotions) and the sun (your Self) all having a party in the sign of Pisces. Most of us couldn’t help but feel the powerful pull to cry ancient tears and feel waves of emotion unleashed from the depths of our consciousness.

The Pisces energies are serving to unearth old beliefs, judgments and hurts that have been lurking beneath the surface. This excavation is taking place in order to shine the light upon what we’ve been holding in our subconscious. These are the subtle patterns that have been influencing our lives for years. So if you’ve been feeling the waves of tenderness, navigating old wounds, know that you have not slipped backwards. Rather, you are being urged to bring illumination to that which no longer serves you.

There is power in being able to see things clearly. I remember in days past of being in a restaurant after hours. Everyone had gone home and the cleaning crew was ready to come in. The dim romantic lighting was off. In its place were bright florescent lights that showed all the imperfections and stark edges of the room.  In this atmosphere nothing was hidden, it was all out in the open. That’s what this energy is like. It is illuminating the dark corners of our consciousness so that we can see clearly.

As you navigate this passage, allow for quiet time to explore. Are there places in your life where you’ve pulled back and lowered expectations? Have you capitulated to the voices of fear? Is there anywhere you have started playing small?

The world has big plans for you. Allow yourself to clear out the energetic closets and make space for more of your light to shine forth. It may not be the most comfortable process in the world, but in the end you’ll be grateful for the wide open spaces filled with bright possibilities.

As Lightworkers, many of us suffer from the “One More Class” Syndrome. We think that if we take just one more class, read one more book, then we will be ready to step forward as teachers, healers and guides.

The truth is, it is a gutsy move to step into the world in this work. And if we all wait for that moment when the small self acquiesces that our knowledge base has reached critical mass, most of us would never take the bold steps necessary to birth ourselves into the world and hang out our shingle.

The truth is, all we need to do is begin by taking the first step… then the second… then the third… and before you know it, you will be walking the most beautiful path you can imagine.

I share with you a journal entry I wrote in October 2004 when I was struggling with this very issue. The angels were telling me to leap. And I was coming up with all of the reasons why I wasn’t yet ready. It feels as if it might resonate with some of you reading my blog, so I’m sharing it here.

Remember, as we step forward as Lightworkers, it is not about the number of books we’ve read. It’s about allowing the channel of divine wisdom and loving to again flow into our awareness. It’s about taking big bold steps and allowing Spirit to lay claim to our lives.  It is about remembering that we are here for so much more than we can imagine. There is such deep healing and light that will flow through each one of us, if only we will grant it an all-access pass into our lives. This is the road to heaven we all crave.

So continue to shine brightly, Dear Ones. We are agents of change, here to change the world. You are ready for this. Now.

Oct. 2004

I am remembering that I am ready for this work. My small self gets apprehensive that I do not “know” enough about the topics I am here to teach. But the “knowing” the small self wants is the type of knowing that comes from books, facts and intellect. The type of knowing that can win you a lot of money on Jeopardy. The small self tells me I need more classes, need to learn more. But this is a thirst that can never be satisfied. For the “knowing” I am here to access and share comes from beyond the mental realm.

I am realizing that I am a channel for Divine Light-Filled wisdom, and I will be its student, too. And it is my intention to release myself from the belief that I have to have the wisdom all cataloged and filed on the mental level before I can share it with others.

I’m also reminding my small self that I am not doing this work alone. Yes, I have to show up and write up brochures and take action in the physical world, but I am doing so at Spirit’s behest. Spirit is doing the planning and spreading the word. Spirit is activating the awareness in the hearts of those I’ve come here to serve. I am being gentle with myself as I sit with the part of me that is scared that no one will find me… the part of me that is scared that this won’t work.

But then the Wise Woman rises up in me and calms my fears with her soothing voice and reminds me that I’ve done this work so many times before… and that I am accessing information and wisdom from beyond the reference of this Earth Girl’s life.

I’m ready for this. Thank you Angels for holding me close and reminding me of my purpose.

The angels love to co-create miracles with us. Yes, there are miracles of biblical proportions that get a lot of glory. But there are also the sweeter every-day miracles that find us on our path. Miracles like finding money on the street just when you are asking for signs of prosperity, or bumping into a friend you haven’t seen in ages only to find out that they have the perfect job lead for you.  These kinds of miracles happen more often than we know. They show up as synchronicities, unexpected windfalls and sudden bursts of inspiration.

A few years ago, a new client had booked a session for an Angel Reading. She worked at a retail store and was heading back to the break room to get ready for our call when a piece of paper on the floor caught her attention. She bent down to pick it up…

…written on the paper was the word Laurel.

…my name

…an uncommon name

…written on a random piece of paper that she found on the floor of the store where she worked

…on the morning of our session.

I love these kinds of miracles. Somehow the angels manage to bring forth confirmation and encouragement just when it is needed.

Remember, you are a miracle magnet. You are a conduit through which beauty, love and light streams to the planet.

Thank goodness for Pinterest — my latest obsession. Ifyou haven’t heard of it before, Pinterest is like a community visual bulletin board where people share images and ideas from all around the web. Once you’ve created an account, you can create various visual boards by category. You can have as many boards as you want. You can have a board for your dream home, for creativity, for cute puppies. The opportunity is only limited by your imagination. Pinterest compiles images that people “pin” from around the web — providing you with a wellspring of visual inspiration.  Since I have such a hard time of describing the awesomeness that is Pinterest, I made a short video about it that you’ll find at the end of this post.
